Northern Diamonds v The Thunder

IN the Charlotte Edwards group B match the Thunder beat the Northern Diamonds by 12 runs

The Thunder won the toss and decided to bat but they only made 118 in their 20 overs with Emma Lamb top scoring with 58 from 43 balls. With the ball she took four for 13 in her four overs and one of them was a maiden, she was also involved in two run outs

The Northern Diamonds raced to 30 after three overs before Lamb was brought into the attack and took two wickets in four balls. Lamb was in action again when she caught Leah Dobson after she had driven Sophia Turner to Lamb at mid off.  Turner’s four overs only cost her only  four runs.

Stereo Kalis top scored with 32 and was the fifth out when she danced down the wicket to Natalie  Brown and was easily stumped by Eleanor Threlkeld for 32.


Diamonds wicket keeper Sarah Taylor was hit on the head to the last ball of the Thunder innings and was replaced by Rachel Hopkins in the Diamonds line up
