Dom Bess signs two year contact

YORKSHIRE start their new home season with the news that off-spinner Dom Bess has signed a two year extension to his contract to keep him at Yorkshire until the end of the 2028 season.April 10, 2026 10:51 am
Bess joined Yorkshire from Somerset in 2019 and captained Yorkshire to the semi-finals of the Megro bank competition last season and in the recent Rothesay County Championship match at Cardiff against Glamorgan he took his 300th first-class wicket.
He said: “Yorkshire has become my home, and I couldn’t be prouder to continue my journey with the club. The next few years will be exciting ones, not just for us on the pitch, but for all the members and supporters who give us their backing each week. We have such a talented squad, and I’m thrilled to say I'll be a part of this as we look to push on and win some trophies.
I am delighted. Another two years after this year, I love the club. I've always said initially playing for Somerset was my dream team. And I think you always, when you're young, you always think of being a one club man. But I think, obviously, things happen and time moves on. With the position I was in, to get an opportunity to play at a club like Yorkshire and have a real impact, it's probably the second proudest moment of my career.
And I openly say I've been through a lot with Yorkshire. I’ve been through three different types of management. The negative side was having to deal with getting relegated, and then having to sort of fight back. But I think now where I am and where I am in my career, I'm still young, I'm still only 28.
I absolutely love it here and I think we've got some really exciting talent that not only will push, hopefully division one cricket, push white ball cricket, I also think there's four or five lads in there that could push higher on us and I want to be a part of that.
Having Coaches Anthony McGarth and Mickey Lewis has sort of reignited my sort of career, I do think. I am an adopted Yorkshireman and I absolutely love the club. About two years ago when I was 24 and didn’t know where the direction of the club was going. I had disagreements with the ex-coach Ottis Gibson, but later I found he was only doing that for my benefit. And I told him that when he was leaving the club.
